Chinoiserie Chic

Chinoiserie (French for Chinese-esque) is such a timeless look that can be blended into just about any space.  I especially enjoy the urns and jars with beautiful bold blue patterns in various shapes and sizes.  And they never go out of style.  We were just in Chicago where we noticed them in our hotel, the Ralph Lauren store, Hermes boutique, and a restaurant we popped into for lunch no less.  I adore large groupings of them, like in this dining room below:

This was designed by Grant Gibson for the San Francisco Decorator Showcase.  I'm absolutely loving the burled wood dining table and kelly green chairs, so rich!  Other noticeable details include the Lindsey Adelman light fixture (that is more of a piece of art than a method for producing light), octagonal painted floors and the stylish zesty yellow booster chair for the youngest member of the family.  Too cute.

Happy Wednesday :)
