Ming-style Coffee Tables

Good sunny morning to you all!
It looks like the positive vibes I was reflecting yesterday scared away the cold bitterness and left us with lots of sunshiny goodness!  My momma always told me to think happy thoughts, so there you are.

Today's post is about designer coffee tables.  Particularly the ones that reflect the Ming-style "banana" leg.  You can see below several designers have incorporated this particular coffee table into their design and blended it with both traditional and contemporary pieces.  To me, using this style of table sets the room apart and creates a small but unexpected surprise.

Let's take the room below:  It was designed by Mary McDonald, who always manages to add an Eastern element to her rooms, whether it be a small accessory or a bold table such as the one below.

Angie Hranowsky used bold lacquered stripes on the wall and graphic green and white pillows, but left the sofa and chairs slipcovered in all white.  If you look carefully, the ottoman's have Eastern characteristics as well.

This room below designed by Jessica Helgerson looks like it could be any of ours.  It's a great transitional room with simple and clean pieces with minimal accessories or accent furniture.

The same designer decorated this room and I love how she used a very contemporary light fixture and sofa with a very traditional armoire.  Can you see that I'm a huge fan of blending styles?  It makes homes feel as if you've been collecting pieces for years instead of collecting it all in one Saturday.

And below, we have one of two Ming-style coffee tables that we just received into the store on this latest shipment.  They're both lacquered in black and as you can see below, I love grouping our mirrored accessories on top of it.  It could look easily as chic with a few coffee table books and your own collected accessories.  Either way, the black lacquer lends a transitional feel and is a little unexpected, just the way I like it :)

Price: $540

Have a terrific Tuesday and remember to keep up those happy thoughts so we'll have a week of amazing weather!
